Introduction To
Sacred Geometry
Everything in nature is made up of patterns, structures, designs from the
smallest atom to the crystal of water to the stars. Each of nature's creations
reveal to us the nature of that object and its own energetic vibration. Thus
every creation has a unique vibratory frequency. The interaction of all the
vibratory frequencies found in creation show us the intrinsic unity of the part
to the whole. Together we find what some call the Music of the Spheres. This
inseparability reminds us of the sacredness and connection we have to everything
and everything to us. Here the Shaman connects with all of creation in respect
and brotherhood and walks his way through the universe in harmony.

The Sphere
The sphere or circle representing the sphere in 2 dimension is the most
universal symbol known to man. It is the ultimate representation of the unity
and inseparability of all things. All points within the sphere have equal
importance, are readily accessible and interrelate within the whole. The sphere
is both the macrocosm and the microcosm in one whole unit. All other symbols
reflect the perfection and unity of the sphere to bring us into conscious
awareness of the Source.
The essence of the sphere exists in a dimension
that transcends linear thinking. Pi itself is an irrational number. There is a
greater wisdom expressed by the circle, one larger than just one man's thoughts
and feelings. As the Shaman connects to the sphere he reaches into the mystical
symbol of all the thoughts and feelings of all men ever created as a dimension
in which to create healing.
At the center of a sphere there is a point,
the smallest of all points, some say located in the null or void of the
innermost depths of the sphere, where the spark of creation is located and
creation is first formed beyond time and space. It is this point of nothingness
within the everything where the Shaman is able to use the vibrations all around
him to create in cooperation with everything contained within the sphere, as an
alchemist creates gold from lead. The ingredients are forever present, yet it is
from this one point of vacuum that a new creation begins. The Shaman recognizes
that he or she is here in this existence to cherish the oneness that together we
all are, that all individuals are unique and precious yet all are one equally
within the sphere.
Life itself is created out of geometric forms, from
the structure of an amino acid to the helical spirals of DNA. The first cells of
human life are structured as vesicle, tetrahedral and star geometries. The
lattice patterns of crystals represent perfect mathematical essence, with its
own unique vibratory frequency designed by angles, lengths and orientations of
the smallest atomic components. No two snowflakes are exactly alike. Therefore
no two snowflakes have exactly the same vibratory frequency. Think then of the
myriad of frequencies that can be found all around us. The Shaman teaches
himself to listen to these frequencies. He or she uses them to travel through
time and space to locate the specific thought form, object, being, or human the
Shaman chooses to encounter and work with. I call this work the learning of
"energy signatures" and understanding that all symbols have their own unique
energy signature will help you understand and appreciate the power of each one
as its own unique catalyst for healing and knowledge in your own life.

Sacred Geometry
Defined
Sacred Geometry is defined as opening the heart and mind to conscious
evolution through geometric models. It is the study of geometric forms and the
metaphorical relationships to transitions of mind, emotions and spirit. The
transition of the human spirit can be seen in the transition of one geometric
form to another through its own evolvement moving into higher and higher
patterns. This is the way of the heart as well. The spiral is the most obvious
symbol of this evolution of consciousness.
Sacred geometric forms are
not stagnant. They are in constant flux, evolving or devolving from one
geometric form to another at their own speed or vibratory frequency. We can,
through observing and studying sacred geometric form, tune our selves into that
vibration and resonate with the frequency of the sacred geometry to cause
insights and revelations within our own four body system in sacred harmony. That
is why certain geometric forms call out to us from an indefinable place within
our own being. We are resonating with that geometry and it is bringing balance,
and upliftment as we harmonize with it.

Phi
Leonardo da Vinci understood that Man [*Canon of Man] was intended in the
proportion of Phi and indeed much of the natural world was Phi based. In the
anatomy of Man, the spinal vertebrae are relative to each other in the Phi
ratio. The Nautilus shell spirals in the Phi ratio. Plants and trees grow in the
Phi ratio. The Earth and Moon have this same relationship. The sunflower is a
wonderful example of the spiraling effect of Phi. Look at a pine cone and find
the same relationship of Phi... in two directions at the same time.
"Man achieves the height of Wisdom when all that he does is as
self evident as what Nature does" [*I Ching] This statement, written perhaps
4000 years ago, yields direction and insight to the research in Phi.
We know that Nature knows Phi. We also know that the ancient
architects used Phi extensively in the temples. We believe that they knew
exactly what they were doing and that the reason they were doing it was to set
up a vibration in which Man could feel Phi and reflect the vibration. When you
visit the ancient Egyptian Temples and feel the vibrations of Phi, there is a
harmonic resonance which cannot be described. This is the Vibration of Symbol.
It is similar to the reflection we receive when encountering an old growth
forest. It can virtually be breathtaking without adequate description. This phi
code is already existing in your bio-magnetic and bio-electrical fields and
connect us to all thoughts energies of all universes and atomic levels. The
whole universe is found in all parts of the human body.

Geomancy
Geomancers recognize that sacred geometry is the study of the way that
spirit congeals into matter. By replicating the sacred geometry of nature and
the universe one can help align the harmonics or resonance of body and spirit
with the vibratory frequencies of the "above and below" or unmanifested energies
of the universe. Buildings, constructions, medicine wheels that apply sacred
geometries in their construction further the ability of the visitor to resonate
or vibrate at the rate of phi which can bring a closer connection to the Source.
There is a group of 5 mathematical ratios that are found all over the world from
the Great Pyramid to Stonehenge. These ratios are:
* Pi - (¥ð) -
3.1416... : 1 - Pi is found in any circle. If the diameter is 1, the
circumference is 3.1416 (C = p D). * Square Root of Two - (¡î2) - 1.414 *
Square Root of Three - (¡î3) - 1.732 * Square Root of Five - (¡î5) - 2.236
* Phi (¨ª) - 1.618 : 1 - phi is the "Golden Section" of the Greeks. It was
said to be the first section in which the Source manifested the universe.

The
Square
The symbolic opposite of the circle is the square which is considered
material and of the earth. When the square and the circle given equal areas and
superimposed, they become a symbol of the fusion between humanity and the
universe, of spirit and matter. It is the first symbol and the one on which
whole ancient cities were built. Consider the ruins at Machu Piccu or the city
of Rome.
The square is the symbol of the physical. The circle is the
symbol of the spiritual. The ultimate goal for the geomancer is to attempt the
impossible: to square the circle (create a square who's perimeter is equal to
the circumference of a circle.) Although it has not yet been done, the Great
Pyramid and the ratio of Earth to the Moon are two examples that are remarkably
close.

The Vesica
Piscis
The division of the circle into two equal size circles, with the centers
of their circumference touching each other, gives birth to an overlapping figure
of profound symbolism: the vesica piscis. It is from within its vagina-like
center that the symbols of sacred geometry are born.
From the vesica we
can create the simplest of polygons, the equilateral triangle. The two triangles
contained in this 'womb' are themselves symbolic of the world above and the
world below, just as the left circle can represent spirit and the right one
matter. It is symbolic to Christianity as a symbol of Jesus Christ and the
Piscean age; as the Holy of Holies it carries the number 2368 in gematria, the
number also equated with Jesus Christ.

The Star of
David
Overlapping two triangles produces the hexagon or the Star of David. If
you divide a circle into 6 parts and allow those 6 circles to fit exactly around
the circumference of an equal 7th circle you have this sacred geometry. The
hexagon according to John Michell is "symbolic of the order of the universe in
the fact that twelve equal spheres can be placed around a thirteenth so that
each touches the nucleus and four of its neighbors, producing the geomancer's
image of twelve disciples grouped around the master. Christ, Osiris and Mohammed
are among those who are represented as a central sphere with twelve retainers."
It is also a common symbol in Islamic geometry, and its qualities are
rational and solar, as evidenced by its 6x60-degree triangles which reflect the
solar number 666.

The Golden
Mean
Another symbol of great fascination to ancient and modern geomancers is
the Golden Mean since it gives rise to a spiral form which occurs in many
natural forms and patterns of plant growth which, as Michell points out, "gives
support to the tenet of traditional philosophy that number preceded creation and
determined its development."
The Golden Mean, sometimes referred to
as the The Sacred Cut or The Phi Ratio (the Greeks called it the Ratio of
perfection)is found in ancient temples, pyramids, classical paintings like the
Mona Lisa and the Last Supper by Da Vinci, in the cross-sectional view of a DNA
molecule, in the combined nesting of the 5 platonic solids. It is found in the
Fibonacci Sequence: 1,1,2,3,5,8,13,21,34,55,89,144....a trinity relationship of
3 numbers, where the previous number like 2, the past, is added to the present,
number 3, to give the future, number 5. It is found in the counterclockwise
spirals of the sunflower and the pine cone and the heart and is the basis of
Atomic Mathematics.

The Pentagram
It is from the Golden Mean that we also find the pentagon and the
five-pointed star. The pentagram is associated with humanity as in a human being
with outstretched arms and legs. This was the symbol of the Pythagorean's
humanistic science and often worn as a talisman of good health. It is also a
widely used symbol by Native Americans just as Christians associated the
pentagram with Jesus. The pentagon is lunar and psychic; the angle between two
sides of a pentagon is 108 degrees, 1080 being the characteristic lunar number.
These primary geometric forms, along with their 3-dimensional
counterparts, the Platonic solids, were believed by many ancient cultures to be
the crystallizations of the creative thoughts of God as they emerge from the
circular Unity. As a metaphor of universal order, sacred geometry is found in
imagery throughout history, from circular mandalas to sacred temples. And now,
crop circles.

The Mandala
The mandala is a drawn representation of the points in the body where
energy is transmitted or received. These points create 3 or 4 dimensional
mandalas that are constantly changing. Mandalas then are created by every
thought form energy, by every emotional energy, by every energy sent out or
received on any level of the universe!
When drawn, the circle is the
principal element since it lies at the heart of the creative principle. It is
the representation of cosmic life, from the smallest atom to the largest planet.
All things are divided from within itself so, paradoxically, all things are
contained within it. It is therefore the symbol of the unknowable, of spirit and
of heaven.
The word "Mandala," is rooted in Sanskrit and literally means
"Circle," which is the first enclosed archetype of Sacred Geometry. The single
point at the center of the circle is called the "Bindu."
It is thought
that meditational Mandalas were brought to Tibet by the Guru Padma Sambava in
the 8th century A.D. The building and use of spiritual Mandalas is an important
aspect of Buddhism and Hinduism. Mandalas are to be found all over the orient
and always used as a tool to facilitate contemplation and meditation. This
process of experiencing Mandala, has the potential to move the contemplative
into awareness of his or her spiritual body . The contemplation of Sacred
Geometry by of studying or creating Mandalas (open-eyed meditation) can bring
the student to spiritual enlightenment.
Long before that great teacher
(Guru Padma Sambava) traveled to Tibet with the healing and centering concepts
of Mandala, Native American Shamans had already discovered that same healing
power within the circle. Much of the symbolic geometry of Native American art
and ritual is rooted in the balance of the circle and its natural division....
the four directions; North, South, East, and West. The famous Lakota Shaman
"Black Elk," called the circle the "Sacred Hoop" (see "Black Elk Speaks" by John
G. Neihardt - published by University of Nebraska Press). |

The Medicine
Wheel
Native Americans as all ancient peoples have used sacred geometry to
express their connection with the harmonic frequencies of the universe and the
Source of all using the simple circle. From the time man first looked at the
moon and the sun, the circle has represented the unity and mystery of the One
Source.
Sacred Geometric symbols of the circle are found in cave
paintings over 30,000 years old.
The medicine wheel is perhaps the most
well known of all Native American sacred geometries. The wheel, the foundation
of all life containing the world in all four directions and the sky and the
earth, representing in total, the sphere of the cosmos and all it contains. The
medicine wheel is at once a place of uniting with all that is, harmonizing with
the vibrations of everything including ancestors, guides, plants, Mother Earth
and Father Sky, the Great Spirit and asking for guidance and help from within
this medicine wheel. Imagine the resonance to be found in the medicine wheel,
very much creating the same phi contained in the ancient pyramids.

The Phi Ratio 
The Golden Mean Ratio is an infinite number that connects atoms to the
stars. We are the Phi Ratio. If you were to see all that is created here from
the fourth dimension you would see an imploded sphere known as the Tube Torus
Doughnut that has no interior or exterior, is spinning like a vortex and allows
energy waves to travel indefinitely without being destroyed as they become part
of the Phi relationship, the golden Mean Spiral.
The most important
thing to know about the Phi Spiral is that the key for energy waves to survive
in the Golden Mean spiral is that they are sharable; they are aligned to the Phi
Ratio of 1:1.618. This phi ratio is the pulsing, existing living mathematics of
nature herself, the blueprint for all creation, for all manifestation.

The Shaman And Sacred Geomtery
The Shaman knows this blueprint. The Shaman is aware of where the spark
of creation is located. The Shaman is cognizant of the need for phi ratio in all
things that would be created or sustained. The Shaman knows how to co-create
within the center of the void a new thought form, a new energy form that will
travel forever in the Golden Mean Spiral and as its vibratory frequencies
gradually become slower and slower it travels down through the atmic, buddhic,
causal planes until its vibrations are slow enough to be manifested on the
physical plane. The Shaman works within the Golden Mean Spiral, works with
vibratory energies of emotions, thoughts forms, that can produce health or
illness, fame or obscurity, abundance or lack, happiness or despair. Not all
Shamans explain what they do in this exact way but I thought it would be within
my own knowledge base and experience to give the scientific explanation of the
healing that a Shaman does and symbols have reflected this knowledge of the
Shaman through time.
The Shaman, by observing the fundamental laws of
the universe, has discovered the secrets of universal harmony and in that
knowledge he or she is a healer of the most extraordinary kind.
